Enthiran Update!
Hi Everyone,
I am going for the Last Schedule shoot today, with which all the talkie portions will be completed. So totally tied up with organizing and preparing for it.
Everyone’s question is when is the audio launch and film release. Regarding the audio launch the last song is in composing and has to be recorded. After that the mastering has to be done then we will fix the audio launch.
Though all the work is nearing completion, there are few factors which will decide the release date.
- The final song is yet to be recorded and shot.
- The partly 3d portion, post production time duration has to be finalized.
- Most of the CG works are completed, another 200 complicated CG shots are yet to be completed.
- Final editing and back ground score is there to be done.
- Sound mixing is to be done… Yes. by the way there is a good news, another Oscar Winner Mr.Resul Pookutty is doing the audiography, who is very charged and have started the work in full swing.
- D.I. and other languages (Hindi and Telugu) dubbing is there to finish.
Some have asked whether the movie is coming this year. Yes, definitely the film is releasing this year only. Within few months.

You know how huge Ash is! She’s an internationally renowned superstar and a Globally known face and hence it will be very helpful for the film’s collections worldwide. Releasing Hindi simultaneously on the same day as Tamil and Telugu was a very wise decision
But there is also a problem, the places that you shot, Brazil and Peru, there also there are a lot of Ash fans and hence they uploaded some videos (the one where Ash is wearing a pink dress). Sorry I can’t post the link here, because it will spread. I don’t want anybody to know about it, hence I will give you the link if you give me a green signal. Happy to know about the progress of the film. I am eagerly waiting to see all my favourites in the film (You, AR Rahman, Rajni and Aish). Take your own time to complete all the work. I wish this film to be a landmark for Tamil cinema.
A small suggestion if you dont mind, I saw few scene sequences were repeated in most of your films. For eg, getting people’s opinion about the lead character or something like that. If you can avoid these kind of scenes, I hope everyone will feel it fresh.
You have focussed on many important national issues in your films. For your consideration, I would like you to make a film based on Environmental problems, our country is facing now. Many people are not aware of the environmental consequences due to the day-to-day activities by us. Only you can create an impact among the common people through your films.

200 shots of 3D??? Is that a lot or the number does not indicate the real situation? Does ARR sing any song in this movie? I guess….last time…Udit’s voice doesn’t suit Rajini that much…Please try to match the singer’s voice with Rajini sir. It will be helpful for the songs to reach greater number of audience.

Shivaji had bumper opening in Dallas,Texas. I expect a bigger opening for Endhiran.
I have some of my American friends waiting for the movie release.

Thanks for the update.Please dont hurry up the CG work of the movie.Let it take its own time.Kamalhassan having taken such a great pain while making Dasavatharam, was pressurised to release the movie soon…so the CG of the movie was only 80% complete which left unfinished layers of CG in a few frames of the movie and the movie was released with only 80% of CG done. We dont want such kind of patches in Endhiran too. So even if the movie release is delayed let it be 100% complete from your end.
And is there any opening song for Rajinikanth?If so i hope SPB would be doing that. Apart from the regular sentiment that a Rajinikanth movie would be a hit if the first song is sung by SPB, I insist on this because SPB can / will provide the initial lift or energy for the movie. It is not that Hariharan or Shankar Mahadevan cant do it. THough they were good in Dasavatharam / Baba / Kuselan, for a Rajini movie there is some extra magic / power when SPB croons for his opening song. I hope the magic has been recreated again.
Since you have said one song is left unpicturised, please try to do it within India as there are many unexplored picturesque locations in our home and also we have seen enough of foreign locales. Just a suggestion – You can try Konkan Regions / Mahabaleshwar /Wayanad /Coorg/Kodachadiri hills for the song, if the mood suites the location. Even the Guna Caves in Kodaikkanal can be considered as i Hope after the movie GUNA, nothing was shot there and it has now been closed for public, but i hope you can avail permission for shooting over there.

Because, Haneefa’s slang plays a vital role in his comedies. Please do let us know if his dubbing portion is over or someone else has dubbed for him.

I heard that ROBOT is based on sujatha’s novel.There are two novels “En Iniya Enthira” and “meendum geano”. on which, ROBOT is based. is ROBOT mixture of both the novels. I wanna read these novels but i can’t read and talk tamil.

Thanks for providing us with a detailed update. We hope you launch the audio well before AR Rahman’s world tour which starts in July from New York. That will help to popularize Endhiran songs outside of India.
I will decide whether to attend his concert only if he is going to include Endhiran songs in the concert…. I’m sure many Thalaivar fans in US will be thinking the same way….
So AR Rahman sir – a humble request! please complete your work at the earliest

I have always felt the urge to compare your movie making style with Mr. James Cameron’s, not so much about what subjects you both deal with but how you deal with them. The movies that u make come in complete packages, especially how you end them. There are movies which leave you with an empty feeling the way they end especially with a lot of action and vibrancy in the beginning and in the middle but they end in a very insipid fashion, which is very disappointing. The way you treat your subject and filmmaking style never ceases to amaze me. I am just staring wide-eyed at the movies that you make and wondering how your mind works to spin such remarkable stories in such a way that you always manage to get your audience’s pulse pounding and leaving them asking for more. I would love to see how you work first hand if it is indeed possible. Looking forward to hearing from you. Thank you for entertaining us; that is all I can say.

hello sir,
you have also worked in bollywood for the movie “Nayak”.So did u really enjoy working there equally as u did while shooting a tamil movie. or language was a problem ? You felt jus at home or you were sometimes anxious or nervous when you shot a scene ? And if the shot didnt come up well, Were you able to retake it just like how you do in tamil cinema ? I mean , was bollywood equally friendly and a cool work atmosphere ? Any plans of a hindi movie again ?

It would be very interesting to see how a successful movie looked like in Scripts. Scrips are available for almost all the Hollywood movies. May be you could lead the line by starting to make your movie scripts available for aspiring film makers!

I have a question, today most of the movie have CGI work but you have told that endiran was taken fully in hollywood standard , but in hollywood movies like spider-man,terminator etc the CGI could not be identified anywhere in the movie they have done it with perfection. In your movie you will give a special importance to grafics . hence in most of the tamil movie CGi can be easily identifed because it depends upon the budget . But How about enthiran CGI?

I’ve an idea. How about dealing with a kid who does all the crime? Normally we don’t show kids involved in such a scenario but there are kids who have that psychoness in them. I know its tough for people to accept kids in a theme like this but I’m sure you can package a powerful script behind the kids motive to be a killer. hmmmmm Just my 2 cents sir. One kind request, The producers of Sivaji have disappointed Thalaivar’s hardcore fans by not publishing the Box-office collection figures. It is known as the biggest hit ever. But other films (even average films) are now falsely claiming to have crossed Sivaji collections. We are sure that Endhiran will be the only film to break Sivaji record. Hello Shankar, One vital request, please add English sub-titles. A lot of non-Tamils are zealously waiting for your film as well. In Malaysia, without any advertisement nor marketing by the local distributor, the film Sivaji collected more than 15 Crores, on the strengt of Indian repeat audience alone. This is more than a Malay film or Chinese Movie would regularly collect. The non availability of proper sub-titles hampered the film from being watched by non Indians. Please, for Endhiran, insist on superior marketing blitz and compulsory English sub-titles. I am sure Endhiran will collect at least 25 Crores. One more thing, push for regular showing of Endhiran Trailers on Malaysian cinemas to further evoke interest among non Indians. Infact, given a chance, I myself will be more than willing to create a rigorous marketing campaign for Endhiran in South East Asia, as me as hard-core cinema goer, naturally developed a tendency to understand the pulse of fellow cinema lovers wants and likes all around.

sir as sun pictures has taken up endhiran…., i ve a few suggestions about it…
1)when sun pict takes up a movie, they end up telecasting most of the scenes(esp comical scenes or dialogues). almost al of dem….(ex : padikadhavan)
so when we watch it in the theatre, it s lik sumthing already heard off… To be simple it bcums “MOKKA” comedy:-/

You are my favourite director . U have set a trend in tamil film industry.In the film ‘Ayan’ ‘s climax there is a dialogue where the officer says how smuggling affects our country-to that surya replies as to whether he took the dialogue from a “Shankar Padam”.That is what sets u apart sir.
i have seen how some directors try to imitate u(Kanda kanda kanda kanda kandasamy-i so earnestly felt how u would have shot that movie ; who shoots duet songs in a desert ;i still remember the Kumari… song shot among beautiful tulips it gave a big bang beginning to the movie.)
Sir iam very earnestly awaiting ENDHIRAN , last year the teaser poster was pasted near my bus stop and i used to keep staring all the time at it. That is what i like about u sir;ur movies are so different – JEANS,BOYZ,KADHALAN,and now we have a robt’s love story. Even though gentleman,anniyan,sivaji,… had same theme u presented it so differently.
I have heard a few (!) rumours about the movie
could u confirm them?
1.vivek sir is not there.
2.one song has Rajni sir in 100 styles and took 22 days to shoot.
3.the costliest set in india ever has been set up by Sabu Cyril for a song using re usable aluminium ..
4.Rajni sir has a special car for this movie.
other than this i have a special doubt sir-in the teaser poster rajni sir looks like he is made of metal;so like in Oru Koodai… song will a metallic colour be applied over him?
iam happy to know that u have 2 talented malayalis in your team(Resul Pookutty/sabu cyril) All the best
sir i have an ambition to become a VFX director ;in foreign countries such posts exist in the film crew . i want to study visual film making or something.

Sir i also have a suggestion regarding the release of Endhiran:
Aishwarya Rai is a very well known face internationally hence it would be great if the movie was simultaneously released in foreign languages as well.Like in slumdog millionaire 10 per cent dialogue can be in tamizh.; tamil songs alone need to be retained(with sub titles)
also foreigners will be stunned to see a romantic musical sci-fi movie.
i believe the song and dance scenes set us apart uniquely and sir u have contributed more to it than any one else.
also sir i read in the newspaper that chinese people like indian movies(especially songs)a lot .hollywood films have always been able to recover their dubbing costs and more from regional releases .i think we should play the same trick.
Sir i sincerely pray that u should get Oscar for this movie
(foreign film awards are always accepted by the directors)
my grandma always says that if u dont succeed the first time (indian,jeans)u will succeed the 3rd time so all the best sir
i have 2 more suggestions.
1. your movies are always about economic inequalities in society . therefore it would be a good gesture if a portion of the profits from this movie be given to charitable causes.
2.sir now you are making a futuristic film;i want to see an epic historical film from you also
the idea to convert Endhiran to 3d is brilliant as:
1,the way AVATAR increased its revenues ,ENDHIRAN’s high cost can be recovered
2, piracy can be avoided
3,a bigger audience will be attracted.

Heard that Endiran aka Robo is under the post production stage. If you take time you’d give one of your best shots than before. The pics were great. Eagerly waiting for the release of this movie. My favorite film of yours is Indian and then comes Boys after that. Though that’s one of the least in the concept wise… i liked it very much cos i was 14 when i watched that movie (now i’m 20). Ok sir… have a nice time with your “Dreams”…

Make it as a world class product. Dialogues,pronunciation and body language are important. Make some style as brand identity for endhiran character like Hulk’s style and hellboy’s fist.

I am eagerly waiting for the movie release.
During Sivaji release, I was in Glasgow U.K. and I have never seen such a response in the cinemas to any other indian movie that date.
I beleive this movie “endhiran” will produce more waves around the world for you and rajni.
I pray sincerely and wish you all the best for this projects and your future projects.
Take your own time to finish as you always does. We just need your quality work on the screen. You can even take till sep or october of this year for your release as Ill will be home only by then. Consider my request also.
Please do only tamil projects and take tamil film industry globally.Only you can do much better than all others.

As said by u only a part of the film will be in 3-d.
Is it good if wearing 3-d glass for some scenes and removing it for the others.A film as a whole in 3-d can be enjoyed.Is Endhiran as a whole will be in 3-d or as usual a normal film ?

Can you release the film dubbed in either English or French? We are fans of Ash from Paris. Ash is a bigger star than most French stars here. Please release it dubbed in English or French!! Its exciting to hear that Endhiran is coming in 3D. Would be a treat to watch thalaivar in 3D. Hopefully we get some action packed scenes which is comparable to best hollywood movies. I had watched couple of your interviews, You used to tell that you like to take movies like Balumahendra. When can I expect those kind of movie. I think Tamil people (your fans) wont allow you to do so? I am waiting for those kind of movies.

It will include positive and negative about that movies those comments from Myself My village(Ungaranahalli, Dharmapuri dt.) people and friends. 4 years back, i tried to make a 1 hour movie clips using 5 tamil movies ( Baasha, Indian , Anniyan , Anniyan and Ramanna ) and titled it as ” FANTASTIC FIVE”
it’s jus create link btw two movies…
I created only few scenes…
those are :
Scene from Baasha :Rajni will found the bomb in vinayagar temple and safe the people,
Then Next scene will come from Mudhalvan :

I am die hard fanatic of Thalaivar. I am also an admirer of all your films right from gentlemen. I have also seen you act in a side role in a movie called seetha if am not wrong. Great transformation from ground to cloud 9. My friends were asst to Mr. Sabu during Boys shooting. They have said a lot about your discipline and strict guidelines.
i see a dazzling combination in this movie. Am sure this tamil movie is going to bring to light the south indian experise.
One small info – Can you share when the official trailer is going to get launched. i am eager to see atleast a teaser.

Your movies are getting energized with the latest sepecs… But i have one think 2 say that nobody in the indian film industry is taking the challenge to shoot the movie in RealD3D or in IMAX. Lacking of theaters is a problem in india but in abroad it doesnt matter, Once a film is stapled in it can reach the viewers on a different diamension…. My last robotic film was Ironman2, Hope Enthiran will be having a rocking experience even also in 2D, Dont forget to release it Blueray after its success, As still industry is not so fast as releasing blueray discs (VCD first, then DVD, then if there is money Blueray).
I am taking the time to write this to ask Sankar that why you are not shooting the movie in 3D (I hope 3D rig will not be a costly one as there is 120 cr budget for the film – If i am wrong pls get corrected)

Usually for any movie, I just go and watch it without expectations even for Rajini sir movies.
Make us proud, sir.
But for Enthiran, I have gone Wild 4rm the Audio release fn.
And the Trailer release have made me go Mad..
Is Enthiran releasing in Japanese version also. I’m just so curious to know.. Couldn’t stop imagining wht would be the response 4rm Japanese wen they see their favourite star Rajini as Robot.
Please create an Official page for Enthiran on IMDB, to take it to the Global audiences.

The movie was awesome and Rajni Sir rocks.
Excellent music by Rahman Sir.
Beautiful Camera work by Randy Sir.
Aishwarya Rai Bachan was awesome.
Kudos to each and everyone who was involved in this excellent film.
