I want to share a glad news with u…. The great film maker and Oscar Winner Oliver Stone has seen ‘Endhiran’ at the Mumbai International Film Festival (MAMI) few days ago & commented on NDTV interview that he enjoyed watching the film and he says its fresh and original. I feel very much honoured that a director of Oliver Stone’s stature has appreciated the film & this is the best encouragement i can get for my future endeavors. Please see the link….

Hi Everybody,

‘Endhiran the robot’ film is in theatres now. I couldn’t be in touch with you guys for a long time since I was doing post production, release, theatre rounds and promotional activities till yesterday.

Thanks to everyone all over the world who enjoyed, supported and appreciated the film. Thanks to the press and all medias. I am very happy that the film is appreciated by the critics as well and was given 5 stars in many reviews and 4 – 5 in others. I am delighted with the box-office records south, north and all over the world.

Many stalwarts of the Indian film industry have congratulated me in person & over phone after watching the movie. It’s a wonderful feeling, Aamir Khan after watching the film invited me to his house, appreciated and discussed about the film till early morning with his wife Kiran and Director Rajkumar Hirani.

Hrithik Roshan called & shared his excitement after watching the film. Kamalhassan congratulated by sending flowers to me with a beautiful message.

Kannada director & actor Upendra, Actor Prakasraj and lot of directors, actors and technicians called and conveyed their heartfull appreciation.

The most exciting appreciation came from Director K.Balachandar. He is one who is very successful more than 30 years as a film maker and he is my role model and my initial goal is to achieve atleast 15 years like him in this field. He sent me an appreciation letter which put me in an emotional high. I couldn’t control my tears after reading it. It made me humble & has given me the energy to work even harder. I am attaching his letter here with his permission.

Hi everyone,

As you know I am tied up with lot of final post-production work I couldn’t be in touch with you for a long time. Moreover even a small information and every still of endhiran I posted in the blog created lot of interest and expectations among the audience.

To avoid excessive hype and expectation, I slowed down posting.

Well… except one song the whole film shooting is completed. The full edited film has been given to A.R.Rahman for background score and Resul Pookutty for the sound effects.

Just waiting to shoot the last song and waiting for computer graphics work of the climax and some important scenes to be completed.

Hi Everyone…

We successfully finished the schedule and I started editing those scenes.

Two nice things happened in this schedule.

One is A.R.Rahman finished composing the last song and the song recording process is going on.

The other one is Ash released the audio of “Rettai Chuzhi” and Kaviperarasu Vairamuthu received it.

Hi Everyone,

I am going for the Last Schedule shoot today, with which all the talkie portions will be completed. So totally tied up with organizing and preparing for it.

Everyone’s question is when is the audio launch and film release. Regarding the audio launch the last song is in composing and has to be recorded. After that the mastering has to be done then we will fix the audio launch.

Though all the work is nearing completion, there are few factors which will decide the release date.

-          The final song is yet to be recorded and shot.

-          The partly 3d portion, post production time duration has to be finalized.

-          Most of the CG works are completed, another 200 complicated CG shots are yet to be completed.

-          Final editing and back ground score is there to be done.

-          Sound mixing is to be done… Yes. by the way there is a good news, another Oscar Winner Mr.Resul Pookutty is doing the audiography, who is very charged and have started the work in full swing.

-          D.I. and other languages (Hindi and Telugu) dubbing is there to finish.

Some have asked whether the movie is coming this year. Yes, definitely the film is releasing this year only. Within few months.

Hi Everyone…

(Its a Sanskrit word used by Ambi in ANNIYAN. Meaning: – I am fine… Everything ok here… Hope you and your family doing well… etc… etc…)

Most of you have asked about Stanwinston Studios role in Endhiran.

Yes. Endhiran is the first Indian movie to use Stanwinston Studio’s Animatronics technology. We all are proud and happy to be associated with No.1  Hollywood studio who did a great job in movies like Jurassic Park, Predator, Terminator, Ironman and the recent Avatar.

Myself, Rajini sir and our Technical crew have been at Los Angeles for couple of weeks at Stanwinston Studios for scanning, make-up test and preproduction works in July 2008. We all are excited that we are working at the place where Steven Spielberg, James Cameron and Arnold Schwarzenegger have worked.

After 1½ half years of preparatory work a group of  top technicians came to Sun Studio’s Chennai sets and worked around for 4 months. 22 scenes of Endhiran Movie have been shot using Animatronics and Special Make-ups. Most of Important scenes was shot lively with Rajini sir using Animatronics without CGI.

At the end of the day Stanwinston people told that they are very happy that Endhiran movie utilized maximum animatronics techniques in so many scenes in all possible ways, which is very rare in Hollywood too… Cool….

This is Shankar. Just back from Pune & Lonavala after finishing an action sequence with both my stars and with this I finished 90% of “Endhiran”

All the movies I direct demands 24 x 7 attention and I don’t get enough time or opportunity to interact with my audience, the film lovers who seek and wish to know about my movies, myself, my likings, my thoughts etc.,
